Ok, I'll try to catch you up on our lives since the last post.
The first set of pictures is from a friends b-day party we went to last week. Preston had a fishing party, how fun!! Keagan didn't catch any fish but he sure had fun trying. Keagan did get to bring home a small goldfish bowl and 3 goldfish. Keagan has always wanted a fish and I always tell him no because I know who will have to maintain the fish tank. Thanks to Wendi,(Preston's mom and a good friend) Keagan had his first fish experience and all 3 died within a few days so hopefully Keagan got his fish fix for a while:)

I finally have a fish, Mom!!!

This past weekend we had another donkey show to attend. It was a longer hike down the road than the last one so we packed our bags and headed to Bryan for a couple of nights. The kids did great and Keagan was most excited with his trophy!!!

Last but not least.....we had some old friends from home come down and visit. Jason and Shawn and Stephanie went to school together. Jason and Shawn played baseball together and cheered together in high school. Stephanie also cheered with them and then Jason and Stephanie cheered together their first couple of years of college. It has been years since we've seen them. Jason and Shawn have stayed in touch but have not gotten together for about 6 or 7 years. It was lots of fun seeing them again. They now have 3 children. They have been in our prayers a lot lately. Their 7 month old was a twin but her brother was still born. They have had some tough times, especially Stephanie. We were glad to see them though and see that they are doing so well. Keagan and their oldest, Rylan are not even a year apart and Kason and Emmy are only a month apart so it was fun for them all to run around and play all day. And of course baby Claire got lots of lovin' from our boys!!!! (Stephanie, how did I not get you in any pictures??:(

That's right, friends. I said they used to cheer together!! Jason actually had a full scholarship cheering at the junior college in our home town for his first 2 years of college. I found some pictures, these are from high school. I wanted to find some of him stunting but couldn't, maybe I'll find some later and post them too. Can any of you pick Jason out in these?? It will be hard since y'all aren't used to seeing him with a head full of hair!!:)

What a big day yesterday was. My sweet little Kason turned 2!!! What a joy it is to have him in our lives. He is such a great, laid back, easy going child. He is always making us laugh and we can't imagine life without him. Happy 2nd Birthday my sweet Kason. We love you SO much!!!! Jason's normal day off during the week is Thursday so we decided to have a little party for him yesterday. Some of his friends came over and they all enjoyed playing outside in the water. Just wanted to say thank you to everybody that helped make his day so special by coming to the party, mailing him a card, or calling him on the phone!! You all are very special to us. What a fun weekend we had. Friday night our Sunday School class had a social. These are always fun since I teach in one of our 2 year old SS classes and I don't get to see our friends from class very often and talk w/o kids. We had a fun time!!!
Saturday morning the boys and I slept in and were lazy.(Jason worked of course) Once getting out of bed we had some breakfast then went for a walk around the neighborhood. It was such a pretty day. After our walk we stayed outside and played for several hours before having to go in and put Kason down for a nap. Our good friends Melanie and Mike called to see if we wanted to go bowling with them(they have 2 boys). Keagan loves bowling so we jumped on the opportunity to hang with friends of ours and the boys. But....once they arrived at the bowling alley they found out the wait for a lane was at least an hour. Not good when you have kids and it's already 6:30 at night. So, everybody came to our house and had cookies and ice cream. We had a lot of fun hanging out and letting the kids play. Then on Sunday after church we went to some friends to hang out at their pool and had a wonderfully relaxing day. The pool water was freezing but it didn't stop the kids from getting in(they have a 5,4,&3 y/o!!) but it did stop me. I only put my feet in but it was nice to be outside and talk. After swimming all afternoon we headed to my in laws for our usual Sunday night family supper. We had a wonderful weekend, I love this time of year because there are so many fun things to do. Thank you everybody who spent time with us we enjoyed it greatly!!!!

Wow, what a week it has been since last Wednesday. Jason, the kids, and I have spent 24 hours in the car and made 3 trips to and from our home town. Jason's grandmother had cancer and was not doing too well so we took a quick trip last week to see her. Jason went Wednesday and came home Thursday, I went Thursday and I also spent some time with my mom for Mother's Day. Me and the boys left on Saturday to come home. We got a call on Sunday night that Jason's Granny had passed away so we headed back on Monday night, got in at about midnight and arrived back home last night....late. It's been a whirlwind of a week. We've gotten to spend lots of time with family especially our nieces that we don't get to see as much as we'd like. So.....I'm posting some pictures of playtime with them. Such sweet girls, we love you and already miss you Brooklyn and Matilyn!!!! Thank you Grandma for taking care of Keagan while he was sick!!!!

I thought this was really cute. I normally don't read forwarded email but I read this one, it gave me a few laughs so I thought I'd share it, hope it makes you laugh too!!!

Why do we love children?

1) NUDITY
I was driving with my three young children one warm summer evening when a
woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved. She was stark
naked! As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my 5-year-old shout from
the back seat, 'Mom, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!'

2) OPINIONS
On the first day of school, a first-grader handed his teacher a note from
his mother. The note read, 'The opinions expressed by this child are not
necessarily those of his parents.'

3) KETCHUP
A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her
struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter to answer the
phone. 'Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's
hitting the bottle.'

4) MORE NUDITY

A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker
room. When he was spotted, the r room burst into shrieks, with ladies
grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in amazement
and then asked, 'What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a little boy
before?'

5) POLICE # 1
While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I was
interrupted by a little girl about 6 years old. Looking up and down at my
uniform, she asked, 'Are you a cop? Yes,' I answered and continued writing
the report. My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police.
Is that right?' 'Yes, that's right,' I told her. 'Well, then,' she said as
she extended her foot toward me, 'would you please tie my shoe?'

6) POLICE # 2
It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the
station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking,
and I saw a little boy staring in at me. 'Is that a dog you got back
there?' he asked.
'It sure is,' I replied.
Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van.
Finally he said, 'What'd he do?'


7) ELDERLY
While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly
shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds.
She was unfailingly intrigued by t he various appliances of old age,
particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs. One day I found her
staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself
for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered,
'The tooth fairy will never believe this!'

8) DRESS-UP
A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party. When she saw her
dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, 'Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit.'
'And why not, darling?'
'You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning.'

9) DEATH
While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister
heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt.
Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin.
Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small
box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of
the deceased.
The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with
sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always
said: 'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the hole
he goooes.'

10) SCHOOL
A little girl had just finished her first week of school. 'I'm just
wasting my time,' she said to her mother. 'I can't read, I can't write,
and they won't let me talk!'

11) BIBLE
A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered
through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He
picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that
had been pressed in between the pages.
'Mama, look what I found,' the boy called out.
'What have you got there, dear?'
With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, 'I think it's
Adam's underwear!'

NOW IF THIS DIDN'T BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY, GO BACK TO BED AND FORGET IT

Why am I a little sad for this post?? Because my kids are growing up way too fast!! It's exciting but can be a little sad sometimes when I stop and think about how big especially Keagan is. He is becoming so independent and can do just about anything on his own. He learned to tie his own shoes yesterday. We've been working on it for about a week but yesterday he got it down. I almost cried when he did it for the first time last night. Then he tied them this morning before he went off to school. Next, he'll be starting kindergarten in August. Can't we just pause life sometimes and slow things down, why do these sweet precious years have to fly by so fast!!??
