Update on Arm

We went to get another x-ray on Monday just to make sure the arm is healing ok. The Doc said that it is about 50% healed!! whoohoo!!! The bone has shifted quite a bit but he doesn't think it will need a pin. He will do another x-ray in a couple of weeks just to make sure and see if the sling can come off for good!! Kids are better Keagan and Kason finished their meds today so hopefully the ear/sinus infections are gone for good!! We are trying to get everybody well before the big trip!!!! Love hearing from each of you. Have a terrific week and weekend!!!!

Keagan and Grandma

We had a fun time in Paris over spring break even with Keagan breaking his arm:) We stayed with Grandma and D-dad(my parents) and my Grandmother also lives with them. I think it did my Granny some good to see the kids.. She actually got in the floor and played with them several times which is good for her!!! We played at the park, went to the library, had lunch with old friends and went to Jason's sisters house and visited with his parents, Rachael and Brian, and our favorite little cousin, Brooklyn!! Uncle Brian actually let Keagan shoot his bb gun. This was a dream come true for Keagan. How could such a little boy care about BB guns!!?? Thanks Uncle Brian, he loved it!!!! Keagan also got to hold D-dad's very special Bud guitar!!! We had fun with you all!!!! We love and miss you!!!!!!

Ok, so a little about our week. Actually, I've had better weeks. It started off with us going to the doctor on Monday for Keagan's arm and Kason's double ear infections that he had the week before our trip to Paris. We actually received some medicine the Saturday before we went but when he finished it five days later the infections were not gone. Tuesday of course Keagan went to school and Kason had a fever and felt absolutely lousy. He wasn't content unless I was holding him. This lasted through Wednesday then he was ok. Thursday was Keagan's actual birthday so I took a cookie cake to school for snack time and he actually wanted to leave instead of stay until the end of school so I just took him with me when we finished up there. When we got home I knew he was running a fever but I took his temp. just to make sure and it was 102.5. Ugh......so today is Sunday. Kason and I went to church this morning without Jason and Keagan because Keagan is still running a fever!! So I had a week of taking care of sick kids and Jason also didn't feel well. You know my house is a wreck because when all you can do is hold your kids when they are sick your house just almost crumbles down around you!!!! So.....I'm drowning in work that need to be done around here but, yep, I'm blogging instead then I'm going to bed!!:) So, these days that Keagan has run a fever he's had no other symptoms but because of the fever I didn't want to get him out in public so we've been just doing fun things around the house. Yesterday we went down to the creek to get out of the house and Keagan took his Spiderman fishing pole and we actually caught a fish!!! Hope you enjoy the pics!! Took some pics of Kason as well trying to have some fun in the grass while Keagan fished!!

Keagan's Birthday

Ok, I haven't been very good about posting lately. We've been quite busy. We were in Paris for a week then have been to doctor appts. this week and having sick children always puts you behind on the daily work that is to be done in a house of four!! But......tomorrow is Keagan's 4th birthday.....yes I said 4th!!! I totally can't believe that he is growing up so fast!!! He is so independent!!! He can do just about everything on his own. He only needs me if he's hurt or if something is too high in the cabinet for him to reach. It's so sad but so neat too, I know they can't stay small forever but do they have to grow and change SO fast!!?? He can write his own name, recognize the letters of the alphabet, can write and recognize numbers 1-10, can count to 30!!! He is so smart. He absolutely loves reading which makes me very happy!! I am amazed that I am so grown up, have a family of four, and have a child that will be four tomorrow!! I am living my dream of being married and being a mommy it's really hard to believe that this is my life sometimes!!! God is really good and I am so thankful.
Just thought I'd post a few pics of Keagan's birthday party from Sunday. We are so thankful for all of our friends here in Belton. They all helped make Keagan's day special!!!

And the resluts.........

Received a call this morning from the Minor Emergency Center that saw Keagan last night. The radiologist read the x-rays and yes, we have a break!!:( Our first broken bone!!! We had to go back today and get a temporary splint on it. We will see an orthopedic doc when we get back home that will put a real cast on. He broke it right by his elbow at the head of his radius. So, he has a pretty long cast. All the way from just above his elbow down to his fingers. His thumb has really been hurting him a lot so we have Tylenol with Codene to give to him. My poor baby. I'm sure in another week things will be looking better but right now things aren't too fun, especially changing clothes!!

Minor Emergency

Ok, so most of you know that me and the boys are in Paris visitng on Keagan's spring break. We've had a good time seeing everybody and I'll write more about the trip later when I can post the pics that we have taken but I just wanted to post about our day.
First, I went out with some friends that I used to work with. We went out to lunch at Crabtree's. It was fun hearing about what the other girls had been up to. Well. so the day started to go downhill right after lunch. I was leaving the restaurant when I dropped my cel ph that is rather new and broke the glass display screen on the front of the phone. When I went to pick it up I cut my thumb on some of the glass that was still poking out. (Thanks Tricia and Christie for meeting me it was fun!!) Ok, so anyway, I came back to my parents house where Keagan told me about getting attacked and scratched by Raven (the black cat). You just have to know this cat. She is mean, not just any mean but I'm telling you M-E-A-N!!! If you look at her wrong you better look out. Anyway he told me "but I didn't go R-O-A-R at her." Kids are so funny the way they tell on themsleves!!! So that brings us to about 2:30 in the afternoon. The sun was finally out!!! It's been raining off and on ever since we got to Paris so I thought we could go to the park. We had a fun time playing, climbing on monkey bars, swinging, sliding, etc. Ok well we were getting ready to go home when Keagan decided to play a little more and jumped off of the slide, not from the top but at the bottom. It would have been okay if everything wasn't damp from the previous days rain. I guess while jumping his feet slipped on the slide, causing him to land harder on the ground than expected. Evidently he landed rather oddly on his hand/arm and SCREAMED and cried immediately. One of those cries where you know something really hurt. The one you hate to hear!!! I was convinced it was broken!!! He wouldn't, couldn't move it, he wouldn't even move his fingers or roll his wrist!!! So.........(yes I'm almost through) 6 x-rays later the doctor at Minor Emergency said that it wasn't broken but that he will know for sure tomorrow(Thursday) after the radiologist looks at the x-rays. He is wearing a sling which has been a huge help and is on Motrin round the clock. Hopefully he will wake up tomorrow much better and forget that it all happened. Oh, being a mother is not easy sometimes but I'm sure that is only the first of many ER visits!!! My big boy was so brave though, I was so proud of him!!!!

Playday

What a day we had. I decided to have a playday at our house and do lunch for a few of Keagan's friends and mine!!:) Ok so a few turned into a lot. (especially for our little house) We had 22 kids all but one Keagan's age and younger!!! Yes, it was a WILD time to say the least, but fun!!! At least there were 10 moms here for me to chat with while all the crazy kids played. Keagan was good for the most part I think. A few of the kids (mainly girls!!) did keep coming and tattling on him for calling names or spitting on them. Once we got those matters tended to he was fine, I think. He did get tired of sharing all of his toys with so many kids. At one point he told me he was ready for all of those people to go home :) Oh well, it was fun and yes I'll probably do it again!!

Not much went on the rest of the week. Seems like all of us have been battling colds. Kason had pink eye in both eyes at the beginning of the week but that is pretty much gone now and just a cold. My throat has been terribly sore the past couple of days and Keagan's had a crazy cough at nighttime. Other than that things are going good.

Keagan's spring break is next week so we are going to go visit in Paris for a while. We haven't been up there since last summer so I think it's time for a trip!! Jason is actually going with us for 1 1/2 days then he will come home so he can work. He hasn't been up there in over a year!!! He just doesn't like going back too regularly for some reason. That's alright though because he does let me and the boys go a few times a year without him. He HATES it when we are gone!!! Anyway, that's about all I have for now. Enjoy the pics!!!
